Photo Biennale 2012: winners saluted
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The results are in for the 6th Tashkent International Photo Biennale organized by Fund Forum and the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan and held as part of Style.Uz Art Week 2012.

Fifteen photographers in 6 categories have been honored with diplomas and prizes at an awards ceremony in the Central Showroom in Tashkent.

Below follows the list of honorees:

‘Best Photo Dedicated to the Family’

Alexander Viledimovich (Belarus) – Bronze Medal
Hamdam Sharahmedov (Uzbekistan) – Silver Medal
Alexander Horvat (Ukraine) – Gold Medal

‘Best Curatorial Project’

Kaveh Baghdadchi (Iran) – Gold Medal

‘Best Experimental Photo’

Mirnaib Hasanov (Azerbaijan) – Bronze Medal
Pavel Kim (Uzbekistan) – Bronze Medal
Andris Kozlovskis (Latvia) – Silver Medal
Yegor Abaturov (Uzbekistan) – Silver Medal
Tatev Mnatsakanyan (Armenia) – Gold Medal

‘Best Artistic Photo’

Nataliya Andrianova (Kyrgyzstan) – Silver Medal
Liga Sakse (Latvia) – Gold Medal

‘Best Work of a Young Artist’

Arlan Baykhojayev (Uzbekistan) – Bronze Medal
Haled Hasan (Bangladesh) – Silver Medal
Alexander Barkovskiy (Uzbekistan) – Gold Medal

‘Best Art Project’

Alikhan (Russia) – Gold Medal

The Sixth Tashkent International Biennale featured over 1,500 works by over 200 artists from 35 countries. Split into 28 exhibitions, the Biennale was attended by over 10,000 people.

The Photo Biennale included 4 workshops by foremost international photographers: Paolo Roversi (France), Gueorgui Pinkhassov (France); Irina Mikhaylova (Russia) Naoyuki Ogino (Japan) and Aitor Lara (Spain).

Also, the Tashkent House of Photography hosted a conference titled ‘Photo Art: the Past, the Present, the Future’.
