Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, together with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports, continues to consider projects for preparing national teams for the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
The plans for the preparation of the WKF Karate Federation of Uzbekistan and the Modern Pentathlon Federation of Uzbekistan were heard today. The event was attended by the President of the NOC Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov, representatives of the organization, employees of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports and the leadership of the Federations.
At the beginning, the work of the Karate Federation of Uzbekistan was considered. It is known that karate is currently included only in the program of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The issue of inclusion in the Paris 2024 Games program will be considered and officially announced in December this year. The karate family hopes the sport will remain in the Olympic program. In today’s presentation, representatives of the Uzbekistan Karate Federation WKF spoke in detail about their plans, taking into account a positive decision. Representatives of the federation made several proposals for the near future, for example, attracting a specialist from Japan in the "kata" direction to the team, and also inviting the first coach-mentor of athletes for training camps and international competitions.
In the afternoon, the presentation of the Federation of Modern Pentathlon was held, which was held by the Secretary General of the organization Ksenia Gulyamova. In her speech, Ksenia Gulyamova outlined the main problem areas, such as the lack of a stable base for training, selection issues, and the increasing popularity of modern pentathlon.
NOC President Rustam Shaabdurakhmanov supported the topics raised in the presentations and urged to work together.
“We have huge tasks before us, and we will carry them out together. The next 3-4 years will also pass quickly. If we do not act ourselves, no one will work for us, no one will develop our sport. Not only the NOCs, but also officials of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports should familiarize themselves with the plans provided and express their opinion. We are always ready to support you, ”said the NOC President.
