Perfectum Mobile starts commercial introduction of EV-DO in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Rubicon Wireless Communication, providing mobile communication services under Perfectum Mobile brand in Uzbekistan, started commercial introduction of high speed data transfer network EV-DO Rev.A in Tashkent, which is analogue of 3G network, offered by GSM operators.

The operator said that it will conduct work on optimization of EV-DOO network till all Tashkent will not be covered with new network.

EV-DO is a technology of the third generation mobile networks (3G), which is developed within CDMA technology. It allows to transfer data at higher speed compared to CDMA 2000 1X.

The operator said that the modernization of network to EV-DO level will allow users of Perfectum Mobile to use advantages of high speed mobile internet. The maximum speed of the network will grow from current 153 Kbps to 3.1 Mbps, the operator said.

The operator said that it will not guarantee coverage of high-speed data transfer network EV-DO in some districts due to natural conditions of radio waves, bad weather, near buildings or in the buildings, metro, etc.

The company said that EV-DO networks’ coverage zone may not coincide with the voice data transfer network. The speed of internet will depend on number of internet users at the time and location of subscribers, landscape of the place and time of the day.

The operator stated that the subscribers should change settings of their mobile phones to use EV-DO network and they should visit Central Office or Chilanzar branch of the company to install new settings.

Rubicon Wireless Communication was founded in November 1995 as a mobile communication operator in Uzbekistan.

The company launched D-AMPS digital network for commercial use in 1997. In 2001, the company introduced CDMA standards under Perfectum Mobile brand.

In 2014, the operator launched a new network based on CDMA 2000 1X standard, which allowed to increase data transfer speed from 14 Kbps to 153 Kbps.
