Pearls of Latvian classical music to be performed in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 November 2018, the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan will host a concert of Latvian classical music “Latvia-100” with the participation of the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The concert is dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the state independence of Latvia and the audience will be offered the pearls of Latvian classical music created by Latvian composers in different years.

Under the leadership of one of the most famous Latvian conductors of our time, Martins Ozolins, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the young Latvian soloists will perform musical works for piano, accordion and symphony orchestra.

For the first time, admirers of classical music of Uzbekistan will have opportunity to live to hear such outstanding examples of Latvian classical music as “Aria” from the First symphonic suite and piano “Nocturne” by Janis Medins, “The Melancholic Waltz” by Emils Darzins, the symphonic suite “Gems” by Jazeps Vitols for accordion and symphony orchestra by Arturs Maskats, concert for piano and orchestra “E Minor” by Arvids илиilinskis.

As a symbolic gift in the name of further strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Latvia and Uzbekistan, as part of the event, the National Symphony Orchestra of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be given scores of musical works performed at the concert.

The concert was organized by the enthusiasts of the Latvian public organization MUSICA TALENT AGENCY in collaboration with and with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Conservatory of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Latvian Embassy in Uzbekistan.
