Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Paynet has allocated 300 million soums to support the UNDP project "Green Aral Sea," aimed at restoring the ecosystem of the dried-up bed of the Aral Sea. The funds will be used to plant 23,428 saxaul trees, which are resistant to the region’s arid conditions.

This initiative is intended to stabilize the seabed, prevent the spread of toxic salts, and improve the environmental situation for local residents.

Paynet’s CEO Anvar Isamukhamedov emphasized the importance of environmental preservation and noted that the company’s contribution is a way to support the local population.

According to UNDP Resident Representative in Uzbekistan Akiko Fujii, Paynet’s support is an important example of corporate responsibility and will contribute to creating a sustainable future for communities affected by the Aral Sea crisis. The UNDP hopes that this partnership will inspire other companies to participate in protecting Uzbekistan’s environment.
