Participants of the meeting of the CIS Tourism Council supported the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The next meeting of the Council for Tourism of the Commonwealth of Independent States member states was held in Samarkand, within which the first CIS tourist fair was held, initiated by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Representatives of ministries and departments, heads of international organizations and specialized universities from the CIS countries, representatives of the tourism industry, as well as leading local and foreign media took part in the events.

The next meeting of the Council of Tourism of the CIS member states discussed various issues related to the system of state policy of Uzbekistan in the field of tourism, the implementation of the Action Plan for the coming years to implement the Strategy for the development of cooperation among the CIS countries, the introduction of a single visa system Silk Way and others.

The outcome of the meeting was the support of members of the Council for all proposed projects, as well as one of the main initiatives put forward by Uzbekistan - to establish an annual tourism fair of the CIS member states, which will be held next year in Nursultan (Kazakhstan).

As participants of the Meeting noted, the first tourism fair of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held at a high level, and further organization of this event on an annual basis will strengthen the long-term relations of the CIS countries, improve the tourism industry of the participating States, and also support the climate of “cooperation and good neighborliness” between our countries .

It should be noted that within the framework of the fair more than 54 agreements on partnership and further cooperation in the field of tourism between various organizations from the CIS countries were signed.
