Parliament to consider Uzbek-US agreement on cargo, personnel transit
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan will consider a law on ratification agreement between the governments of Uzbekistan and the USA on air transit through territory of Uzbekistan of cargo and personnel in connection with the participation of the USA in the efforts on ensuring security, stability and rehabilitation of Afghanistan.
The press service of Social-Democratic Party of Uzbekistan “Adolat” said that its faction at the Legislative Chamber considered the law on its session on 20 June 2012.
The party said that Uzbekistan and the USA signed the agreement in Tashkent on 28 March 2012. Chairperson of the committee of Legislative Party on defence and security issues Qodir Juraev presented the document, which is considered in the first reading.
During the discussion, it was noted that the draft law was supported by corresponding departments and ministries of Uzbekistan.
