Paris authorities decide to tighten measures to combat the spread of coronavirus

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- New measures concern Paris and three departments - Saint-Saint-Denis, Val-de-Marne and Haut-de-Seine, that is, a region with more than 7.5 million inhabitants. “All bars are closed since Tuesday. Restaurants will continue to operate with strict adherence to the new sanitary rules,” said the prefect. He clarified that these measures will be in effect for 15 days, after which an analysis of their effectiveness will be carried out, TASS reports.

In Paris, the ban on holding events with the participation of more than 1,000 people will continue. At the same time, a new rule is introduced, according to which more than 10 people do not have the right to gather together on the streets and squares. Sports clubs and fitness rooms will be closed, swimming pools will be open only for schoolchildren. Open-air stadiums and playgrounds will continue to operate, while for open-air stadiums, in addition to the restriction of 1,000 spectators, a ban on occupancy of more than 50% of seats is also introduced.

To avoid the evening gathering of citizens, the sale of alcohol is prohibited in cities from 22.00, as well as loud broadcasting of music. Student parties and family celebrations in public places are canceled, wedding banquets are prohibited. The ban also covers the operation of gambling houses, holding fairs, exhibition and trade showrooms.

The administration of supermarkets is now obliged to comply with the rule according to which no more than one customer should fall on 2 square meters of area. “Cinemas and theaters will continue to operate with strict adherence to the established sanitary standards,” said the prefect.

“We have to find a balance between the goal of ensuring health and the task of ensuring economic activity,” the prefect emphasized. He also added that it is necessary to create conditions in order to successfully implement measures to revive the economy in the future. At the same time, the prefect of Paris admitted that the epidemic is developing very quickly and it is necessary to slow down its progress so that medical institutions do not become overcrowded.

The French government on 4 October in the evening declared Paris and its suburbs a zone of maximum danger due to the spread of the coronavirus. Previously, such zones were declared Marseille and Guadeloupe.

In Paris, according to the head of the health department of the Ile-de-France metropolitan region, Aurelien Rousseau, there are currently 203 hot spots for the spread of coronavirus. “The hospital occupancy rate is growing from week to week. The tense situation in hospitals has led to the fact that we have to postpone a number of important operations for other patients, "- said Russo.

Over the past day, 12,565 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in France, while for the entire epidemic this figure was 619,190. 32 patients died per day from complications caused by coronavirus, 54 new foci of infection were identified.
