Pakhtakor lose, slip to third
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
ACL ever-presents Pakhtakor slipped to third in the Uzbekistan League standings following their 1-0 defeat, their first this season, at the hands of Mashal in the seventh round recently.
Their ACL counterparts Bunyodkor, however, recorded a 3-1 victory over Andijan to go two clear in the 14-team table. They are on 19 points, two more than Nasaf and three ahead of Pakhtakor.
Pakhtakor, who shocked Iran’s Esteghlal 2-1 in the AFC Champions League last week to keep their continental hopes alive, failed to keep up the pace in the domestic league.
Mashal’s only goal was scored by Andrey Hodykin in the 21st minute.
Bunyodkor, who defeated Iran’s Persepolis 3-1 in the ACL, ensured full points with goals from Anvar Radjabov and Milos Trifunovic (two). Lochin Soliev scored Andijan’s only goal from the spot seven minutes from time.
