In the first round of Group B of the AFC Champions League, Pakhtakot Tashkent defeated Iranian club Naft with the score 2-1 at home.

Pakhtakor started the game with attacks and could open score just after two minutes of the match. New signee of Uzbek club Adnan Orahovac hit the woodwork after corner-kick. Igor Sergeev could not send ball to the net from the rebound.

Iranian club played in counter-attacks and created some chances to score, but the score did not change in the first half.

After the restart, Pakhtakor skipper Kaha Maharadze opened the score in the match after cross of Sherzod Karimov. On 50 minutes, two minutes after goal, Sherzod Karimov saw the red card for unsporting behavior.

Naft Tehran equalized the score almost immediately. Defender Egor Krimets made a mistake and Ali Gorbani scored the equalizer.

Pakhtakor continued to attack and clinched the winner on 85 minutes. Iranian keeper made a mistake after Vladimir Kozak shot from free-kick. Igor Sergeev was first on rebound and scored the winner.
