Pakhtakor beats Ararat in CIS Cup

Pakhtakor Tashkend edged past Armenian champion’s Ararat to move to the second place ion Group A of the CIS and Baltic Cup 2009.
Uzbek vice-champions scored four goals in the match, while Armenian club answered only with one. Alexander Geinrikh scored his second goal in tournament, while Iheruome, Ahmedov and Tadjiev found the back of the net.
Tashkent club will now play against Aktobe Kazakhstan, who defeated Russia’s Rubin 2-0. The match will be held on 20 January and Pakhtakor need a point to move to quarterfinals.
