About 787.9 million tonnes of freights were carried by motor transport in nine months of 2010, which rose by 12.9% year-on-year. The freight turnover has increased by 5.6% and was 17.5 billion t-km.
The freight turnover of motor transport of individual entrepreneurs exceeded the level of January-September 2009 by 8.6% to 12.5 billion t-km. The share of private carriers in total freight turnover of motor transport was 71.2% in January-September 2010 versus 69.2% in nine months of 2009.
About 21,700 tonnes of freights were carried by air transport, which is 99.1% more than in January-September 2009. The freight turnover grew by 85.3% to 127.1 million t-km.
The freight turnover of main pipelines decreased by 11.4% and reached 21.3 billion t-km, the committee said.
