Over 64,000 clients use internet banking services
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan issued about 14 million banking cards into circulation, the press service of the Central Bank said.

According to the regulator, over 163,000 enterprises of retail trade and service were equipped with the POS-teminal to ensure providing uninterrupted serves to cardholders. Over 2,000 ATMs and infokiosks were installed.

Introduction of banking cards helped to increase revenues of the trade and services grew by 50%, which ensured the volume of all payment three times in last five years.

Currently, monthly volume of payments for goods and services made up 1.8 trillion soums in average, including for communal services – 187 billion soums.

Today, the average 50% of salary payments and social allowances are paid via banking cards. At the same time, cash is paid on request of clients, the Central Bank said.

Currently, over 73,000 businesses use corporate cards to purchase goods or services, necessary for their needs, or cover expenses of trips.

About 64,000 clients use services of internet banking and Bank-Client, as well as 530,000 clients use mobile banking and SMS-banking.

Central Bank noted that it is implementing the second stage of the project “Clearing system for payment of retail payments in real time with further integration to billing system of service suppliers”.

At the first stage, the Central Bank created the bank of settlements and set mechanism of direct debting correspondent accounts of the bank on liabilities of their clients.

In the second stage, the regulator in cooperation with State Tax Committee, Uzbekenergo, Uztransgaz and Beeline are working on accepting payments for tax and other mandatory payments, payments for electricity and gas.

In order to expand clearing system, the work is underway to connect billing systems of Uztelecom, Uzonline, Uzmobile, Ucell, Perfectum Mobile, Suvsoz, Issiqlik Quvvati and Mahsustrans.
