Over 60,000 Drivers in Uzbekistan Receive Penalty Points for Traffic Violations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Since 1 June, over 60,000 drivers in Uzbekistan have been assigned penalty points for violating traffic rules, the Road Safety Service reported.

According to the data, most offenders received one point — nearly 64,000 drivers. Slightly fewer than 5,000 drivers received two points, 129 received three points, 14 received four points, and only four drivers received five points. Meanwhile, the vast majority of motorists — over 9.3 million — have no penalty points.

The agency noted a positive trend: from June to August, 167,000 violations were recorded, a 58% decrease compared to the same period last year, when 285,000 violations were documented.

The number of road accidents caused by drivers also fell significantly: 338 cases versus 531 the previous year, representing a 36% reduction.
