Largest number of enterprises were registered in trade and catering (26.4% from total registered enterprises), agriculture (without farm entities - 23.5%), industry (11.4%) and construction (7.9%).
Number of non-governmental enterprises in total number of registered enterprises comprised 92.9%, of which 54.8% - farmer and dehkan entities, 20.9% - private enterprises, 0.9% enterprises with foreign capital, 0.3% - joint-stock company and 16 - other enterprises.
In January-September 2009, number of newly registered enterprises and organizations in Uzbekistan made up 34,900.
Largest number of newly created enterprises was founded in Tashkent city (15.6% from total number of newly registered enterprises in Uzbekistan), Kashkadarya region (11.6%), Ferghana region (9.3%) and Andijan region (8.7%).
About 25.1% newly registered enterprises were created in agriculture, 26.4% in trade and catering and 14.8% in industry.
In the reporting period, about 18,800 enterprises and organizations were liquidated, of which 2,900 on voluntary bases. Largest number of liquidated enterprises fell to share of Tashkent city (18.4% of total liquidated enterprises), Karakalpakstan (10%), Surkhandarya region (11.8%), Ferghana region (8.6%) and Tashkent region (8.4%).
