Over 2,000 serious traffic violations recorded in Namangan region in one day

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Road Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan conducted large-scale enforcement operations in the Namangan region, during which more than 2,000 serious traffic violations were detected within a single day.

According to the press service of the Ministry, 756 vehicles were towed to specialized impound lots.

In 394 cases, drivers were found operating vehicles without the required documentation. Additionally, 45 instances of illegal transfer of vehicles to minors were recorded, and in 131 cases drivers disregarded red traffic signals.

These measures were implemented in response to recent criticism voiced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. At a recent meeting, the head of state pointed out negligent attitudes among certain law enforcement leaders regarding road safety.

The President specifically highlighted the increase in incidents involving teenagers renting cars — in Namangan region alone, 10 to 15 injury cases involving minors occur monthly, some resulting in fatalities.
