Over 13,000 Business Projects in Uzbekistan Receive 1.7 Trillion Soums in Support in H1 2025
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In the first half of 2025, more than 13,000 business projects in Uzbekistan received financial support totaling 1.774 trillion soums, according to Abdullah Buvraboyev, spokesperson for the Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC.
Over the past seven years, the Company has supported more than 64,000 business projects involving 59,643 entrepreneurs, with a cumulative funding amount of 19.516 trillion soums. In the first six months of this year alone, support was provided to over 13,000 projects totaling nearly 1.8 trillion soums.
The largest share of support went to the agricultural sector, with 29,621 projects receiving 9.548 trillion soums. The service sector saw the financing of 21,802 projects (5.008 trillion soums), while the industrial sector accounted for 12,447 projects (4.954 trillion soums).
The primary form of support was interest rate compensation on loans, applied to 33,593 projects amounting to 6.696 trillion soums. Guarantees totaling 10.650 trillion soums were issued for 13,880 projects to address collateral shortages.
Additionally, 131 portfolio guarantees were provided.
Under Presidential Decree No. PF-193 dated 10 November 2023, aimed at supporting the transformation of small businesses into medium-sized enterprises and medium-sized into large ones, 41 business ideas were funded under the "mortgage of services" model for a total of 221 billion soums. Five projects received partnership investment totaling 11 billion soums, and 331 projects received credit resources through partner organizations amounting to 416 billion soums.
Moreover, in line with Presidential Resolution No. PQ-312 dated 7 September 2024, refinancing of microloans was secured for 16,151 projects totaling 1.521 trillion soums.
This financial assistance has yielded significant outcomes:
– The total volume of supported loans involving compensations and guarantees exceeded 77.3 trillion soums;
– Interest rate compensation enabled entrepreneurs to save approximately 6.7 trillion soums;
– 9,553 women-led projects received 1.897 trillion soums in support;
– Over 8,000 "green" and energy-efficient projects received 2.102 trillion soums in backing;
– In 4th- and 5th-category regions, 13,603 projects were supported for a total of 3.765 trillion soums;
– As a result of collaboration with entrepreneurs, nearly 400,000 new jobs were created and existing ones preserved.
The Entrepreneurship Development Company JSC is actively implementing digital tools. Integration of the “Tadbirkor” information platform with partner organizations’ databases is underway. This facilitates early identification of financial potential, automates contract formation, and eliminates the need for paper documentation.
