Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Otobek Tursunov has been appointed as the first deputy khokim (governor) of Tashkent Region, responsible for financial and economic matters as well as poverty reduction.

Additionally, he has taken on the role of head of the Main Department of Economics and Finance for the region.

Prior to this appointment, Tursunov served as the deputy head of the Cabinet of Ministers' secretariat in Uzbekistan, overseeing issues related to the economy, industry, financial and banking sectors, taxation, state assets, entrepreneurship support, and poverty reduction.
