Oson Secures License for Regulated Payments in UAE

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Fintech holding Oson has officially obtained a license to provide regulated payment services in the United Arab Emirates. On 23 March, the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) granted the Dubai International Financial Centre-registered company, Oson DIFC Limited, the status of “Authorised Firm,” allowing it to offer regulated financial and payment services in the country.

The company is now authorized to open payment accounts, manage client funds, and serve both retail and corporate users.

Oson described the license as the completion of a “crucial stage in international expansion” and a foundation for launching a full-fledged international neobank, as well as introducing new financial products to the market.

Since receiving preliminary DFSA approval in October 2025, the holding implemented international compliance and anti-money laundering (AML) systems and signed partnerships with local banks.

Oson’s founder and CEO, Farhod Makhmudov, emphasized that the DFSA license establishes a basis for global expansion. By the time of its Middle East market entry, the company already has a user base of 3 million and extensive experience developing fintech products. In 2026, Oson plans to launch new offerings, including an upgraded Oson wallet and new cash-out terminals.

The DFSA decision grants Oson access to the DIFC system and the opportunity to establish an international operations center there, serving as a gateway to the Middle East and North Africa markets.

The preliminary DFSA approval was considered by the company as the first step toward obtaining a 3C license for multi-currency wallets, cross-border payments, and B2B fintech infrastructure.
