Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov held a meeting with the UAE’s Minister of State for Economy and Trade Ahmed bin Ali Said.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of further cooperation between the two countries, with a particular focus on attracting investments to Uzbekistan and implementing major joint projects.

Shermatov expressed gratitude to the United Arab Emirates for supporting the "One Million Uzbek Programmers" initiative, which has helped develop IT skills among Uzbek youth, and emphasized the readiness to continue such initiatives. He also presented proposals for attracting large UAE companies to participate in projects in Uzbekistan.

In response, Ahmed bin Ali Said confirmed the UAE’s interest in investing in the telecommunications sector and other areas of the economy.

At the end of the meeting, Shermatov invited Ahmed bin Ali Said to visit Uzbekistan to explore the country’s investment opportunities firsthand.
