Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Reports about a series of tragic incidents involving children drowning in home swimming pools in Tashkent have been widely circulated in the media and on social networks. In response, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan has conducted an official investigation into the cases.

According to verified information, between 12 May and 10 July 2025, the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care received reports regarding the drowning of seven minors residing in various districts of the capital.

Four of the affected children were discharged after receiving the necessary medical treatment. Two others remain under medical supervision, with doctors describing one child’s condition as extremely critical.

Tragically, one child died after falling into a swimming pool located on private residential property. The cause of death was determined to be a lack of adult supervision. Upon arrival at the medical facility, the child was pronounced biologically deceased.

Following this incident, the Chilanzar District Prosecutor’s Office has launched a preliminary inquiry.
