The visit was aimed at discussing mutual beneficial and full-scale cooperation of Uzbekistan and the OIV, informing the Uzbek side on activities of the organization, considering opportunities of Uzbekistan’s accession in this organization.
The International Organisation of Vine and Wine is an intergovernmental organisation founded on an international treaty regulated by international rules of procedure and Headquarters Agreement. It was founded in 1924 and has 45 members.
The OIV’s goals and tasks is to protect interest of vine industry and create favourable market conditions, harmonization of methods of analyzing and fighting forgery and unfair competition. Annually, the organization holds scientific symposiums on various issues of vine and wine production, as well as international wine contests.
