Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 March, an official welcoming ceremony for the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, took place at the Hôtel des Invalides in Paris. The Uzbek leader arrived in France on a state visit.

President Emmanuel Macron personally welcomed his Uzbek counterpart.

In honor of the distinguished guest, a guard of honor was formed on the square, comprising servicemen of the Republican Guard, ground forces, navy, and air force of France.

A military orchestra performed the national anthems of both countries, after which guardsmen marched in ceremonial formation before the President of Uzbekistan.

The two leaders then inspected the honor guard and greeted members of the official delegations.

Following the ceremony, escorted by the cavalry guard and motorcycle escort, Shavkat Mirziyoyev proceeded to the Élysée Palace, the official residence of the President of France, where high-level bilateral talks are set to take place.
