The list was approved by the Executive Committee of Russian Football Union, which held its session in Moscow on Wednesday, 24 June 2015.

Odil Akhmedov was chosen as one of three best defensive midfielders of the Russian football league along with Bibras Natkho (CSKA) and Javi García (Zenit).

As reported earlier, the Uzbek midfielder was also named as the best player of Krasnodar in 2014/2015 by the fans of the Russian club.
