Number of Internet users exceeds 9.1m point
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Number of Internet users in Uzbekistan exceeded 9.1 million point in the result of the first quarter of 2012, the Uzbek Agency for Communication and Information (UzACI) said.
At the same time, some 3.85 million users (14.6%) connect to Internet via fixed telecommunication lines and 5.2 million people (+24.2%) use mobile Internet.
Number of providers on data transfer and ISPs made up 936 units in the first quarter of 2012 against 903 in the same period of 2011.
There were also 1,050 units of Internet cafes in the first quarter of 2012 compared to 968 units in the same period of 2011.
