No cholera cases registered in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Cholera outbreak reports in Uzbekistan do not correspond to reality, a statement of the Jahon news agency under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan said.

Reports on some websites about cholera outbreak in Tashkent city and Tashkent region are incorrect, the agency said.

The report said that the growth of diarrhea is recorded each year in Uzbekistan and Central Asia from May to October.

Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan created anti-epidemiology center in April to monitor external environment and situation with enteric infections.

The statement said that Ministry of Healthcare issued order in 2009, which regulate epidemic supervision over cholera. In line with the decree, all people with diarrhea symptoms are examined for cholera.

It added that the implementation of the decree has been strengthened in Uzbekistan due to hot weather in summer. All examinations of sick people with diarrhea for cholera were negative.

Uzbekistan is full-fledge member of the World Health Organization (WHO) and informs the organization about all registered cases of dangerous diseases.

The report added that the Ministry of Healthcare directed information to the European Regional Bureau of the WHO and rejected cholera outbreak in Uzbekistan.
