Representatives of Senate and MPs of the Legislative Chamber, as well as mass media participated at the session.
It was noted that within this year, the parliamentary commission allocated 3.3 billion soums to support 239 socially important projects.
The participants considered results of the second round of the contest on receiving state grant “Obod uyim”, which was held from 20 August to 20 September 2013.
The contest is directed at improving mahallas, rural infrastructure, ecologic situation in the regions through attracting NGOs. Some 123 NGO and civil society institutes presented 142 projects, including seven on development of media, two – electronic mass media and 5 – print media.
The commission studied the projects and decided to support 16 projects for total sum of 206,2 million soums.
The commission also considered implementation of the projects, which received financial support in 2011. Some 125 NGOs implemented the projects in 2011-2012. About 20 projects were implemented by independent media.
The participants also criticized violations of some NGOs at implementation of the projects and non-implementation of the grant agreements. They adopted measures directed at eliminating these shortages and approved a resolution.
