Next meeting of the interparliamentary commission of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on cooperation with the council of the National Assembly of Belarus held

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 27 August, as part of the official visit of Natalia Kochanova, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus, to Uzbekistan, a meeting of the Interparliamentary Commission of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on cooperation with the Council of the Republic of Belarus was held.

The event was attended by members of the parliaments, staff of the parliamentary offices, representatives of ministries and agencies, as well as media and employees of the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan and Belarus.

The agenda included discussions on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, proposals for the development of interparliamentary cooperation, interregional collaboration, and the implementation of agreements reached during meetings between the heads of the parliaments of the two countries. The participants also exchanged views on a number of planned joint activities.

The parties emphasized that the results achieved in bilateral cooperation, the development of interparliamentary dialogue, and the establishment and strengthening of mutually beneficial trade, economic, political, legal, and cultural ties fully align with the hopes and interests of the peoples of the two countries, who share longstanding bonds of friendship.

Both sides expressed their readiness to continue expanding interparliamentary partnerships across a wide range of mutually beneficial issues.

The meeting also reviewed the progress of joint trade and investment projects included in the relevant "road maps". Mutual interest and readiness for close cooperation to provide parliamentary support for their practical implementation were confirmed.

In this context, the importance of enhancing economic ties between the regions of the two countries for the practical implementation of decisions and agreements made during the successful Second Uzbek-Belarusian Forum of Regions, held in Tashkent in February of this year, was highlighted.

The parties agreed to continue regular and productive contacts within the framework of the interparliamentary commissions of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Belarus and to collaborate on the effective implementation of promising joint projects in priority sectors of the economy for both countries.
