Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new modern bus terminal has been officially opened in Samarkand’s Chopon-ota district as part of a public–private partnership project.

The project, valued at US$12 million, features contemporary architectural solutions, energy‑saving technologies, and high safety standards.

The new transport hub is designed to simultaneously accommodate 100 buses, 150 minibuses, and 300 cars. Its opening has created 300 permanent jobs for local residents.

Regular routes from the terminal have already been launched to Tashkent and Jizzakh regions. In addition, buses traveling from the capital to Bukhara, Navoi, Khorezm, Kashkadarya, and Surkhandarya regions now pass through the new Samarkand bus terminal.

The commissioning of this facility marks an important step in strengthening Samarkand’s transport and logistics potential and in providing the population with more convenient and efficient travel conditions.
