Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is reviewing projects related to the construction and development of the New Tashkent.
The symbolic first stone for the new city was laid on 18 March 2023. During the ceremony, the head of state emphasized that New Tashkent will become a "green city," with special attention given to air and water quality, the use of alternative energy sources, and the planting of numerous trees. The "green belt" project will also be implemented here: a Central Park will be created on 420 hectares, and 200,000 trees will be planted.
A nursery has already been established on a 50-hectare plot, which the president visited today. The head of state examined the saplings, reviewed landscaping plans, and inspected the irrigation and care systems for the future green zones.
To date, 27,000 ornamental saplings have been grown in the nursery for later transplantation. Additionally, a greenhouse, boiler room, and systems for storing and irrigating planting materials have already been constructed.
In the new city, temporary administrative buildings are being constructed for the organization of relevant ministries and departments. The president familiarized himself with the conditions created in these buildings.
Currently, four buildings and auxiliary structures made from light materials have been erected using only domestically produced construction materials. The offices are designed in an "open space" format and can accommodate up to 250 employees each.
This will help in the phased organization of ministry and department work in New Tashkent and will also reduce traffic congestion in the capital.
