The Government said it adopted decision on dismantling and demolition of hydrolytic production at Ferghana Chemical Factory of Furan Compounds with total area of 40.5 hectares and construction of new houses block in place of it.

The decision was adopted to improve ecologic situation in Ferghana city due to movement of ecological harmful industrial objects to outside of the city.

Ferghana Chemical Factory of Furan Compounds was announced as bankrupt on 10 November 2010 and liquidation process is underway.

In line with the decision of creditors and decision of Ferghana Economic Court, capacities on production of cellulose of Ferghana Chemical Factory of Furan Compounds was handed over to National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Relations and hydrolytic production to Ferghana city administration.

NBU was ordered to receive object to its balance and adopt measures to move capacities of cellulose production to outside of the city. The bank should adopt measures to increase production and export of goods.

Ferghana city administration was entrusted to demolish hydrolytic production with signing corresponding agreements with local companies.
