Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 18 May is the International Museum Day, established by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in 1977, Dunyo reports.
This year, with the support of the Fund for the Development of Culture and Art under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, three new collections will be opened on the Google Arts & Culture online platform on museums and culture of Uzbekistan,
In the first collection, everyone will get acquainted with the unforgettable landscapes, architectural monuments and the history of our country, which inspired Jaffa Assulin and Laziz Hamani to publish the book “Uzbekistan: The Road to Samarkand”. The authors visited the most remote corners of our country, plunged into history and saw the work of masters of applied and performing arts.
Impressions of the trip were ultimately set forth on the pages of their authorship book.
The second collection will tell about the oldest artifacts that will present the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan at the exhibition “Civilizations and cultures on the Great Silk Road” in the Museum of the Louvre. Visitors will be presented fragments of frescoes from the Varakhsh palace, a Buddha statue with monks from Fayaz-tep, the manuscript of the ancient Koran Usman and other significant exhibits of Uzbekistan, which are part of the world cultural heritage.
The third collection will publish the history of one of the largest museums in Central Asia - the State Museum of Art of Uzbekistan. The history of creation and archival photographs will show you amazing changes in the architecture and exhibition space of the museum since its opening. Along with this, the collection includes a presentation of the updated concept of museum architecture, developed by Japanese architect Tadao Ando.
