Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The railway route connecting Tashkent and Khojikent has been extended to the newly opened Chinorkent station.
The grand opening ceremony of the station took place on 22 January.
According to the press service of “Uzbekistan Railways,” the construction of the new 1.5-kilometer railway section was part of a large-scale project that also included the expansion of the road leading to the Charvak Reservoir.
The Chinorkent station features a 150-meter-long platform equipped with a protective canopy for passenger convenience. Additionally, an underground pedestrian crossing was built to ensure safe and comfortable access to the platform.
Muradjon Mamaraimov, Director of the Suburban Transport Division at “Uzbekistan Railways,” noted that there are plans to install information kiosks for ticket purchases at all stations along this route in the future.
Passengers can also pay for their journeys directly on the train, including using ATTO travel cards.
