New approaches to employment and entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a resolution titled “On Measures to Ensure Employment and Reduce Poverty in 2025,” which outlines new strategies for employment, encouraging entrepreneurship, and increasing incomes.

The resolution approves a program to provide profitable employment for the population in 2025, along with target indicators related to this initiative.

As part of the program’s implementation, 5.2 million people are expected to be employed in 2025, aiming to provide them with profitable work.

Additionally, between 2025 and 2026, a cooperation system in poultry farming will be implemented across Namangan, Tashkent, Khorezm, and other regions. The system will include business projects such as constructing modern slaughterhouses (poultry farms), cold storage warehouses, product and waste processing facilities, breeding pedigree chicks, and production facilities for poultry products.

To involve low-income families, the following projects will be launched in 2025:

Creation of forests with industrial, decorative, and fruit-bearing trees, as well as establishing nurseries and cultivating medicinal plants on 20,000 hectares of forest land.

Pilot projects for growing brussonea on 100 hectares of land.

Furthermore, starting from 1 July 2025, members of low-income families who provide information about the trees they have planted on the “Ecoactive Citizen” platform will receive a subsidy of 1 size of basic estimate value for every 100 trees planted on forest land.
