Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Alisher Tukhtaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, has arrived in Islamabad, Pakistan, Dunyo news agency reported.
Before this appointment, Tukhtaev served as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. He is a graduate of the Tashkent State Institute of Law (now the Tashkent State University of Law) and has held various high-ranking positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies, and the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.
Additionally, Tukhtaev worked at the Cotton-Textile Clusters Association of Uzbekistan, first as an advisor and later as the deputy chairman.
The new ambassador is fluent in English and several other foreign languages. He succeeds Oybek Usmanov, who represented Uzbekistan’s interests in Pakistan from 2021 to 2024.
