New academic year begins at Yandex Uzbekistan’s school of programming

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A new year-long course on the basics of Python programming has started at the Yandex School of Programming. The academic year began with a festive lecture, during which students were congratulated on the start of the new year, received memorable gifts, and were introduced to the curriculum.

During the classes, high school students will learn the basics of development in the Python programming language. They will explore key concepts, structures, and libraries of the language. The training will be conducted in person at Inha University in Tashkent, with sessions held twice a week for an hour and a half.

Participation in the project is completely free. Following the entrance exams, 75 students were admitted to the school.

“The opening of the Yandex School of Programming at our university is a significant step in developing the educational environment. We are confident that collaboration with one of the leading IT companies will create new opportunities for students and help them gain essential skills for growth in the IT field,” commented the Rector of Inha University in Tashkent.

“Last year, we started with one test group, and we saw great interest in programming. Therefore, this year, we significantly expanded the number of spots so that more students can study at the School of Programming and become part of the dynamically developing world of technology,” commented Izzat Shukurov, head of Yandex Uzbekistan.

The Yandex School of Programming is an international project teaching the basics of Python programming for students aged 14-17. The project first launched in Uzbekistan in 2023 in Tashkent. In 2024, the School of Programming also expanded to Samarkand and Urgench.
