Net sales of Coscom makes up US$53.45m in 2Q 2010

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Net sales of Coscom LLC FE, second largest mobile operator in Uzbekistan in terms of subscribers’ number, rose from 303 million Sweden kronor (about US$41.096 million) in the second quarter of 2009 to 394 million Sweden kronor (about US$53.45 million) in the same period of 2010, the Swedish-Finnish telecom operator, TeliaSonera, financial statements said.

TeliaSonera said that the strong growth trend is a result of strong subscription intake and the price increase that was implemented in Uzbekistan during mid-March.

Subscribers’ base of Coscom, which renders service under UCell brand, made up 5.416 million at the end of the second quarter of 2010 against 3.923 million in the same period of 2009.

According to the company, MOU (Average monthly minutes of usage per subscriber) increased from 265 minutes per month in the second quarter of 2009 to 297 minutes per months in the same period of 2010.
