Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation from Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Rebeca Grynspan.

The meeting took place in Geneva. The delegation included Gayane Umerova, Chairperson of Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan, and Eldiyor Toshmatov, Uzbekistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva.

During the meeting, the prospects and importance of developing creative industries, which are a crucial element of sustainable development, were discussed.

The parties also considered the possibility of jointly publishing a special edition of the Creative Economy Outlook dedicated to Uzbekistan.

Art and Culture Development Foundation of Uzbekistan received an invitation to the annual meeting of UNCTAD’s experts on trade, services, and development, which will be held from 10 to 12 July in Geneva.

In turn, Rebeca Grynspan was invited to the IV World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE), which will be held in Tashkent from 2 to 4 October 2024, under the slogan "Inclusively Creative: A Shifted Reality."
