NBU plans to join MoneyGram system
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
National Bank for Foreign Economic Activity of Uzbekistan (NBU) is planning to launch operation with MoneyGram international money transfer system, Bankir.uz reported quoting Narodnoye Slovo newspaper.
Currently, the NBU currently works with such money transfer systems as Western Union, MIGOM and Azia Express, as well as Contact, UNISTREAM and Leader through bank correspondents.
About 141 customer service points of the NBU carried out over 184,000 transactions with total sum of uS$105 million In 2009 and US$15.6 million in the first quarter of 2010.
