National Pavilion of Uzbekistan participates at the Berlin International Film Festival

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan will participate for the first time in the European film market, one of the most significant film and media industry events. The European Film Festival is held annually as part of the Berlin International Film Festival.

Thanks to the successful agreements between the National Film Commission of Uzbekistan and the film market, this year among the hundreds of film market stands will be the national pavilion of Uzbekistan. The pavilion will allow members of the delegation, which includes representatives of the film industry of Uzbekistan, to hold talks with foreign film companies.

The purpose of the delegation is to reach agreements on mutually beneficial cooperation with representatives of world cinema on joint shooting and cinema tourism. Locations and opportunities for filming in Uzbekistan will be presented as part of the film market events.

The Union of Youth of Uzbekistan, the National Agency Uzbekkino, as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Germany provided significant assistance in the participation of the delegation of Uzbekistan in this event.

In 2019, the Berlin International Film Festival will be held from February 7 to 15. The jury of Berlinale is headed by famous French actress Juliette Binoche. The director of the festival is Dieter Kosslick.

The Berlin International Film Festival (Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin, Berlinale) is one of the largest film forums in the world, with about 20,000 professionals from more than 100 countries participating in it every year. Along with the Cannes and Venice festivals, the Berlinale is considered the largest and most prestigious cinema in the world.
