The event was organized at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov and held by the Ministry of Healthcare of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Over 300 representatives of scientific and healthcare organizations of the world, ministries of the healthcare of over 40 countries, including the USA, China, Russia, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and others.

The main topic of the forum is to review results of reforms, conducted in Uzbekistan to strengthen and protect health of population, including mothers and children, formation of healthy generation, etc.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov participated at the opening ceremony of the international forum, UzA reported.

The plenary session of the event presented information on created national model of Uzbekistan on rendering medical services, including protection of healthcare of mothers and children.

Participants of the forum familiarized with exhibition dedicated to development of healthcare system in the country, including protection of maternity and childhood. After that the participants of the forum attended sectional sessions.

The participants also familiarized with the activity of National Scientific Center of Extreme Medical Aid, National Scientific-Practical Specialized Medical Center for Phthisiology and pulmonology, Children Hospital in Tashkent.

The participants visited specialized clinics and participated in satellite conferences and master classes, as well as conducted surgeries.

At the end of the forum, the participants adopted a resolution of the International symposium.
