National dances of Uzbekistan presented at festival in Malaysia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Children’s theater studio Zamin of the Republican Children’s Art Center Barkamol Avlod took part in the 9th International Youth Folk Dance Festival in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah State , Malaysia. This was reported by the press service of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Malaysia.

Representatives of our country for the first time participate in this event. In addition to our young talents, the festival featured more than 30 song and dance groups from Russia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Singapore, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

The International Youth Folk Dance Festival is held every July 0, in the capital of Sabah, Kota Kinabalu. The festival is a platform for young people, demonstrating their talents in theatrical, song and dance genres. Students from primary and secondary schools from all over Malaysia and South-East Asia participate in the event.

The participants of the studio "Zamin" performed Khorezm, Bukhara, Surkhandarya and Ferghana traditional dances, as well as the national Malaysian dance. As a result of the event, the group won in three nominations: “Best Young Dancer”, “Best Young Dancer” and “Best Group”. Also, the leaders of the Uzbek dance studio, along with the chief minister of the state of Sabah, the mayor of Kota-Kinabalu, the deputy minister of tourism, art and culture, were invited as judges to this festival.

During the conversation, Sabah’s Chief Minister of State Shafiq Abdal noted that the participation of Uzbekistan’s representatives in the work of the International Youth Festival and the demonstration of the art of Uzbek dance aroused great interest among participants and spectators towards the national values, traditions and culture of Uzbekistan. "After everything I saw, after a brilliant performance of young talents from Uzbekistan, I cannot help visiting your country. I think that many residents of our state and Malaysia as a whole will also arrive, "Sh. Abdal said.
