The visit was organized by the Embassy of Oman in Uzbekistan and Ministry of Information of Oman.
The delegation was received by Director of National department on documents and archives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Oman Professor Hamad bin Muhammad ad-Daviani.
He briefed the guests with the activities of the department, which is equipped with modern equipment on restoration of manuscripts and documents, as well as digitalize manuscripts and books.
It was noted that similar conditions will be created at the Center of oriental manuscripts named after Abu Rayhan Beruniy in Tashkent, construction of which will start soon. The center is created in cooperation with Oman.
The NAESMI delegation presented pilot samples of eight books on architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan dedicated to monuments of Samarkand, Khiva, Karakalpakstan, Navoi, Surkhandarya, Andijan and Namangan regions. Professor Hamad bin Muhammad ad-Daviani was impressed with the bvook.
The delegation shot a documentary film about Uzbekistan. The film will familiarize with Oman, its culture, people, cuisine, architectural monuments, nature, works of craftsmen, etc.
