In line with the presidential resolution, the first day of Eid ul-Fitr, 31 August, was announced as day-off in Uzbekistan and marked widely as holiday.
Eid ul-Fitr, often abbreviated to Eid, is a Muslim holiday that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.
According to Islam history, Allah sent down first verses of Qoran to the prophet Muhammad on this day.
Eid ul-Fitr is celebrated three days. During these days, people visit graves of their relatives, make donations to poor, present gifts and ask apologies.
Editorial Board of UzDaily congratulates all Muslims with Eid ul-Fitr and may Allah accept your fasting and prayers. We wish you and your relatives health, peace and well-being.
