Uzbekistan champions will play in Group B along with Lekhwiya (Qatar), Al Ettifaq (Saudi Arabia). Third opponent of the Uzbek club will be determined in qualification round. The winner of the match between Sabaye Qom (Iran) and Al Shabab Al Arabi (UAE) will join the group.

Murod Ismailov underlined that Pakhtakor had good chance to qualify to play-offs of the AFC Champions League last season, but injuries and inexperience of team hindered to advance from the group.

Ismailov added that the team became Uzbekistan champions and should avoid mistakes of last season. Speaking about opponents, he said that teams have equal force. He added that Pakhtakor kick off group stage and end it in home, which can give some advantage to it.

Pakhtakor head coach underlined that the club will strengthen squad and the management is working over new signees.
