MTS Uzbekistan launches new WAP portal
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- MTS Uzbekistan, largest mobile communication operator of Uzbekistan and 100% subsidiary of Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems, said now its subscribers can download mobile content directly from operator portal wap.mts.uz thanks to introduction of new pay-per-click system.

Pay-per-click system to download media contents from WAP environment is actively used in Europe and other countries with development mobile communication market and it is now available for MTS Uzbekistan subscribers. Main advantages of new technology is simplicity and comfortability in use, which simplifies process of receiving content, saves time and efforts of subscribers, as well as decreasing possibility of mistaken orders. Important advantage is payment and download of content without disconnecting existing WAP/GPRS session.

With introduction of new technology, subscribers of MTS Uzbekistan received opportunity to receive fast access to various contents. Without leaving wap.mts.uz site, the subscribers can receive mobile content to their handset in one click and familiarize with content- view image or read description to game. Earlier, subscribers had to send SMS with code to content and receive WAP link to content.

New version of WAP-portal is designed for wide auditory, using services based on GPRS. The content presented at the portal can be used in majority of handset models. The portal also provides entertainment and reference information.

Nuriddin Shadmanov, deputy director general of MTS Uzbekistan, said: “Within our strategy, we are continuing to introduce new developments and currently we introduce our corporate WAP-portal, which is rich for information and services. Comfortability in use and new opportunities, which we offer, will make our portal one of the best WAP-resources in Uzbekistan.”
