MTS users send over 15m short messages in New Year

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
MTS-Uzbekistan, 100% subsidiary of Russia’s Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), said its subscribers sent about 15 million SMS messages from midnight of 31 December 2008 to midnight of 1 January 2009.
The company said such record number of SMS messages was achieved due to dynamic growth of MTS’ subscriber base in 2008. Total number of subscribers made up 5.6 million t the end of 2008.
