MPs, representatives of Health Ministry, Emergency Situation Ministry, Nature Protection Committee, Sanoatgeokontekhnazorat, Customs Committee, officials from Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regional administrations participated at the session.
The participants heart reports from Health Ministry, Emergency Situation Ministry, Nature Protection Committee, Sanoatgeokontekhnazorat on execution of articles of 12 and 13 of the Law “On radiation security” in Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions.
It was said that radiology laboratory analyzed food, consumer goods, water and water sources to ensure radiation security of Ferghana Valley citizens. Centers for sanitary-epidemiology were equipped with dosimeters, and they meter natural ionizing radiation radioactive background.
It was said that there are some shortages in implementation of requirements of the articles of 12 and 13 of the Law “On radiation security”. In particular, it is not paid attention to developing and implementing the programmes on radiation security, informing citizens on radiation security situation and measures on ensuring radiation security and training of citizens.
The session adopted a corresponding decision of the committee, which is directed at eliminating these shortages.
