MPs approve programme on creation of jobs
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved a programme on creating jobs and ensuring employment of population for 2013.

Minister of Labor and Social Security of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aktam Khaitov underlined that the programme was developed by the Cabinet of Ministers and submitted to the Legislative Chamber. The document is aimed at implementing complex measures on ensuring employment of population.

The programme envisages creation 972,700 jobs in 2013. They will be created die to launch of new large industrial objects, reconstruction and expansion of existing capacities, stimulation of small and private businesses, development of family entrepreneurship and services, etc. The part of jobs will be created to development of craftsmanship in Namangan, Ferghana, Andijan, Samarkand and Bukhara regions.

It is also planned to create jobs in 28 remote, mountainous and border districts, where production and social sphere are not developed. It is planned to create 126,000 jobs in 2013 in such areas.

The government also plans to reserve at least 100,000 jobs to vulnerable layers of population such as people with disabilities and other persons, who have problems with employment.

The programme also envisages employment of 500,000 graduates of professional colleges. It is planned to provide soft micro loans to graduates to launch their own businesses.

MPs also underlined importance of keeping high level of crediting of small and private businesses. It is forecasted that the commercial banks will allocate up to 5.1 trillion soums of loans next year. The loans will be directed to finance projects, which will create jobs in rural areas with high unemployment rate.

Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the programme and adopted a corresponding resolution.
