Moscow Exchange plans to launch trading in the national currencies of Armenia, Uzbekistan and the UAE

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Andrei Skabelin, director of the foreign exchange market department of the Moscow Exchange, said that it is planned to launch trading in the Armenian dram, Uzbek soum and Emirati dirham on the site in the coming months, RIA Novosti reported.

“In the coming months, we plan to launch trading in the Armenian dram, Uzbek sum and Emirati dirham. We see interest in these currencies and we understand that they will have liquidity. As a number of technical issues are resolved, we will launch these pairs,” he said.

In total, the Moscow Exchange has about 20 currency pairs under consideration for a possible launch, but this does not mean that all of them will be launched. According to Skabelin, real interest from participants and clients is necessary for the start, then a real market is formed. It is also important to ensure that market makers are available to maintain quotes.
